One more quick reminder that if you’re in or near San Diego and have questions about egg donation and/or surrogacy we would love to have you at our Creating LGBTQ Families Workshop! If you can’t make it out or if Los Angeles is a closer trip we’d like to announce that we’ll be at the very first Men Having Babies West Conference in Los Angeles at The LA Gay & Lesbian Center next Saturday, May 5th!
Men Having Babies offers family building advice for gay men worldwide. Here is a bit about their organization in their own words:
Men Having Babies, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was spun off in July 2012 from a program that ran at the NYC LGBT Center since 2005.* It started as a peer support network for biological gay fathers and fathers-to-be, offering monthly workshops and an annual seminar. Over time, elaborate online resources were developed, the group’s mailing list expanded to about 1000 men from around the world, and it was asked to organize seminars, exhibits and workshops in other locations (the first European Men Having babies Seminar took place in April 2012 in Barcelona).
Our mission includes:
- The provision of educational and practical information to assist gay prospective parents achieve biological parenting.
- Promoting the affordability of surrogacy related services for gay men through financial assistance and the encouragement of transparency and customer feedback.
- Promoting surrogacy practices that minimize the risks and maximize the potential short and long-term benefits to all involved.
- Raising awareness about the potential benefits and meaningful relationships surrogacy arrangements can bring about.
Fertility Source Companies is so excited to be participating in all of the amazing work the Men Having Babies organization is doing! One of our very own case managers will be a speaker on the expert panel during the surrogacy seminar portion of the event and we’ll be around all day to meet with you and answer your questions! Find the full event schedule here: MHB LA 2013 Schedule.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
