Multi-Parent Families + SB274

Heterogeneity in family building and structure is no new thing– especially when it comes to building LGBTQ families through egg donation and/or surrogacy. However, the different ways in which we have started to build our families has been limited by the law’s assumption that families are largely the same. Not only is this far from the truth but it has created, at the least, feelings of fear and lack of safety for legally unrecognized parents and, at the most damaging, scenarios where children lose access to parental figures they have come to know and understand as their family.

Aromatherapy for Parenting Journey

Greetings friends! I have been inspired today by a dear friend who is in process of her parenting journey and my desire to share with her (and now you all) a little gift that might help make the process a bit easier.

Aromatherapy has been a wild and enlightening exploration for me to feel into all of the ways that I can be more effective and satisfied. I am often found combining experimental aromatherapy with a new system of organization at work, or a shift in my schedule, to a coping strategy when stressors arise. I am not an herbalist or naturopath by any means, I merely have employed different strategies to feel better and reflected on their efficacy for my personal journey. Through our own process of discovery, we can all find the tools that suit us the best.

LGBT Health Publication

I recently made an awesome discovery that I want to share with you all – a peer reviewed, accessible series of journals all having to do with LGBT health.  These are hugely informative, recent and relevant articles without any awkward Huffington Post sensationalism – just what you want to know.  A lot of these journals require payment, but there are several that are free to access – it just requires a little looking around.  Access to quality care is huge for all people, and for LGBT identified individuals, it can be hard to get the straight facts (pun intended…we try to have a little fun here ya know?)
